Mobility Assistance

Changes in strength, balance, or mobility can make everyday movement more difficult and increase the need for assistance at home. AboutYOU Homecare provides non-medical mobility support that helps clients move safely and participate in appropriate daily activities while respecting their pace and abilities.

Mobility Assistance May Include

Depending on the client’s care plan, caregivers may assist with:

Walking inside the home or during appropriate outings

Providing support while using a walker or other mobility aid

Walking alongside a client for added stability

Getting in and out of bed

Sitting down or standing up from a chair

Moving between areas of the home safely

What to Expect

Before assistance begins, the care team discusses the client’s usual mobility, preferred routines, and any instructions from health care professionals. Caregivers then provide the agreed-upon level of support without unnecessarily taking over tasks the client can safely perform independently.

Mobility assistance is non-medical support. If a client has significant balance problems, a recent injury, or changing mobility needs, families should consult an appropriate health care professional for individualized safety guidance.
